Hari B. Ancha, MD

1.jpgDr. Ancha began his medical education at Guntur Medical College in India, where he trained in general surgery and endoscopy. In 1993, he began training with the University of New York Medical College in surgery and internal medicine.

He completed an Internal Medicine Residency program and became certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1997. He later completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2006 and became board certified in gastroenterology in October 2006.

Dr. Ancha joined Waco Gastroenterology in July 2006 and his diverse training background makes him a strong member of the group. He is proficient with EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and wireless capsule endoscopy.

He is a member of the McLennan County Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Ancha cares for patients at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Providence Health Center and Waco Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center in Waco, Texas.

Dr. Ancha is the proud father of two daughters.

James W. Boss, MD

2.jpgDr. Boss earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981. His medical training was at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he graduated in 1989. Dr. Boss stayed in Galveston to complete an internal medicine internship and residency as well as his gastroenterology fellowship. He became board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology in 1995 and joined Waco Gastroenterology in 1998.

Dr. Boss is married with three children. He is a member of the McLennan County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Physicians, and the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.

He has privileges at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Providence Health Center, and Waco Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center in Waco, Texas.

Edward D. Carpenter, MD

3.jpgDr. Carpenter is a 1974 graduate of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and a 1979 summa cum laude graduate from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. His medical education continued at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas for an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency and a Gastroenterology Fellowship until 1984. Dr. Carpenter served as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine for Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia from 1984-1985.

He became board certified in internal medicine in 1982 and gastroenterology in 1985. He started his practice at Waco Gastroenterology in 1985. Dr. Carpenter and his wife have three children.

Dr. Carpenter is a member of the McLennan County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Carpenter has privileges at Providence Health Center, Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, and Waco Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center in Waco, Texas.

Edward D. Contreras, MD

4.jpgDr. Contreras earned a B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984 and went on to graduate from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1988. He completed his medical training with an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas, Texas from 1988-1994.

He was board certified for internal medicine in 1991 and gastroenterology in 1995. He joined Waco Gastroenterology in 1994.

Dr. Contreras is a member of the McLennan County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterology Association. He has privileges at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Providence Health Center, and Waco Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center in Waco, Texas.

Dr. Contreras is married and has two daughters.

Thomas F. Eastwood, MD

5.jpgDr. Eastwood is a 1979 cum laude graduate of St. Olaf College in Minnesota and a 1984 graduate from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency programs at the VA Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona from 1984-1988 and a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio from 1988-1990.

He was board certified in internal medicine in 1987 and gastroenterology in 1990. He joined Waco Gastroenterology in 1990.

Dr. Eastwood is a member of the McLennan County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology.

He maintains privileges at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Providence Health Center, and Waco Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center in Waco, Texas.

Dr. Eastwood and his wife make their home in Waco.

Phillip H. Reeder, MD

6.jpgDr. Reeder is a 1972 summa cum laude graduate of the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio with a B.S. in Chemistry and a 1976 graduate from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Dr. Reeder completed his internship, residency and GI fellowships at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio from 1976-1981. He served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UT San Antonio until 1996.

Dr. Reeder was board certified in internal medicine in 1979 and gastroenterology in 1981. Dr. Reeder worked in private practices in San Antonio, Texas and Paris, Texas before joining Waco Gastroenterology Associates in 1998.

He is a member of the McLennan County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Reeder maintains privileges at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Providence Health Center and Waco Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center in Waco, Texas.

Dr. Reeder is a lay Eucharistic Visitor at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco. He and his wife have three children.

Bryan J. Hanysak, MD

7.jpgDr. Hanysak attended Baylor University in Waco where he graduated with degrees in biology and philosophy in 1996. He went on to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he remained for his internship, residency, and where he completed a Gastroenterology Fellowship in 2009.

He was board certified for internal medicine in 2005 and gastroenterology in 2009. Dr. Hanysak is a member of the McLennan County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, and the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.

Dr. Hanysak joined Waco Gastroenterology in July 2009. In addition to his extensive training in general endoscopy, Dr. Hanysak has advanced training and experience to perform endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and is the first physician to bring this service to Waco.

Dr. Hanysak is married and has two sons.

Jena Herring Mann APRN, FNP-C

Jena S. MannJena earned her B.S. in Nursing from Baylor University in 1997. She has experience in a variety of nursing practices, including pre-operative and post-ope rative surgical care, hospice/palliative care and working with pediatric patients in an office setting. She graduated with a Master of Science degree in Nursing in 2014 from Baylor University. She became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and subsequently joined Waco Gastroenterology in 2014. Jena resides in Lorena, Texas with her husband and four children.
